Site Analyzing - Demographic Data

Collecting data on the population residing in Flushing and specifically along Flushing Creek to make precise observations/conclusions.

Demographic Data:

From: Demographic Statistical Atlas in Flushing, NY

--

zoomed out: area easily stands out as a "red" zone (population composed primarily of Asians)

zoomed in: again mainly a red zone with blue zones coming in second and some orange zones.

From: Race Maps

zoomed out:

zoomed in: (perhaps more zooming in of specific area is required??) right away the area along Flushing Creek stands out as red and orange (perhaps a mix of red and yellow which means between average and low income)

--

zoom out: The state of New York in general is an expensive place to live in which I think actually explains why most of the map is "consistent" (meaning it's mainly green - cost of living in New York is roughly the "same" EXPENSIVE ; except of course in Manhattan where it's MORE EXPENSIVE and with more blue)

zoomed in: mostly similar data with some patches of red, yellow and yellow-green. Meaning there are some areas in Flushing that aren't too expensive to rent out.
